‘I Hate Luv Storys’ Review: ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ Movie Review I Hate Luv Storys |
Direction: Punit Malhotra
Star Cast: Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Samir Dattani, Samir Soni
‘I Hate Boring Love Storys’ could be your verdict while making an exit from the theatre after watching the new offering from Karan Johar’s camp.
Punit Malhotra’s ‘I Hate Luv Storys’, is a simple, predictable and an overdose of inane dialogues. The director seems to have added all the possible clichés that he can imagine to make the movie look different but sorry to say Mr. Malhotra you failed.
Now, let’s take a look into the life of Jay Dhingra (Imran Khan) who is a cute looking young man but his biggest problem is that he is a commitment phobic. He ends up becoming an assistant to film maker Veer (Samir Soni), the one popular for making romantic movies.
The trouble of Jay doesnot end here as he is forced to work with Simran Sharma (Sonam Kapoor) who eats, sleeps and is fully drunk in Ishq- vishq. She is engaged to a guy of his dreams, Raj (Sameer Dattani) who can be compared to the character of Raj in DDLJ. From here you all Bollywood buffs must have predicted what will happen next. It’s all love -love in the air with some tears.
The first half of movie is stretched too long and you can manage to pick some eating stuff from canteen as you will need it a lot. There is nothing to miss in the movie because it is terribly predictable. In the film you will notice the overdose of pink in Simran’s bedroom. Well, when these romantic filmmakers will come out of this pinky-pinky stuff.
But, there is something that could stop you from getting bore. The chemistry between Imran and Sonam is ‘awesome’. The two are looking cute and adorable. The jodi is refreshing and energetic.
Performances given by the artist is fine but nothing much to boast about. Imran has done a good job and his facial expressions like eyebrow lifts, smirk, and smileys are good to see. At the same time Sonam has nothing much to do except for the idea of love, and donning great clothes while Sameer Dattani in short is boring.
Dialogue writer should have tried to make his lines more interesting instead of keeping them simple, ordinary and also corny. Manish Malhotra has done a fantastic job as he always does. People will love to see Sonam and Imran’s outfits.
The music of the movie is already a hit but ‘Bin Tere’ and ‘Bahara’ tracks are worth listening.
In all, ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ has nothing new to offer and if you don’t have anything important to do then can try this movie for time pass.
