Emraan Hashmi's "Tum Mile" is stuck not because of date problems, but due to the delayed rains here. Ironically, the romantic movie is about a couple stuck in the 2005 Mumbai deluge and the makers are waiting for the skies to open up.

"None of us have a date excuse this time around. We are willing to shoot for the film but just can't do that," joked Emraan, "Thankfully, this time around the culprit is none other than the rain god himself."

Producer Mukesh Bhatt doesn't have much to worry though as director Kunal Deshmukh has almost completed the entire film in a specially designed set that recreates the flood scene of July 26, 2005. The film is gearing up for its final copy.

"But then we don't want to rush up things. We want the final copy to look exactly like a final copy. And for that, these shots (real rain shots) form an integral part. While a couple of them would require both me and Soha (Ali Khan) being trapped in rain, a few only need the Mumbai city in background," Emraan said.

When a huge portion of the film has already been shot on the sets, why not shoot the aforementioned scenes in artificial rains?

"Kunal (Deshmukh) is very particular about these scenes especially and is quite positive that actual rains will only elevate the proceedings. Since these are meant to be outdoor shots, it would look fake if we shoot with artificial rain," said Emraan.

"In fact, we were not anticipating such a situation because generally the rains do arrive in Mumbai around this time. We are sitting ready with our cast, crew and equipment. It's just a matter of a few days and we are willing to wait," he added.

"Tum Mile" was originally slated for release in June-July to coincide with the Mumbai floods anniversary. However, due to the producers' strike, the release timelines have now shifted to Sep 25.

"Whatever happens indeed happens for good. Since there are so many releases waiting in queue, we have to anyway wait for a while before we hit the screens. 'Jashn' is also releasing this July.

"Meanwhile, we continue to pray and hope that we can finish our job, complete the film and be ready for September release," said Emraan.

Starring Soha Ali Khan in female lead, "Tum Mile" has music by Pritam.
