Danny Boyle Planning Trainspotting Sequel Danny Boyle |
Academy award winning filmmaker Danny Boyle has not ruled out the chances of making the sequel of his 1996 release Trainspotting. Boyle hinted that there is a possibility that he will be working on the sequel with original cast.
Boyle’s Trainspotting is based on the novel of the same name by Irvine Welsh and now the filmmaker is willing to bring its sequel Porno to the silver screen.
The 54-year old director was quoted as saying, "It will happen, I think. I mean, we`ll approach them all again about it, but it will depend on what place they`re all at We have a very strong idea that it would be a wonderful thing to reproach, to do again, when they have aged clearly into a mid-life kind of crisis, basically. They`re not quite there yet, I don`t think.”
Meanwhile, talking about Porno, Boyle insisted that book holds a great potential for big screen adaption.
"`Porno` is not a great book in the way that `Trainspotting`, the original novel, is genuinely a masterpiece, I think, as a piece of writing. But we have been doing some work on it, and it`s got potential, yeah, for sure. And when the moment`s right, I think we will approach it," he said.
Porno describes the characters of Trainspotting ten years after the events of the earlier book, as their paths cross again.
