Hot bombshell Halle Berry will soon be seen portraying the role of an American woman with dissociative identity disorder in her upcoming flick, ‘Frankie and Alice’. The movie which received outstanding response from critics when it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2010 is directed by Geoffrey Sax and also stars Matt Frewer, Chandra Wilson and Phylicia Rashad in pivotal roles.
‘Frankie and Alice’ is a true story about a woman who struggles to retain her true self and not give in to her racist alter-personality.
Halle Berry was quoted as saying, “A black woman who splits off into a white racist, right there that’s got to be a story worth telling.”
“I really wanted to understand how that could happen, why that would happen and I wanted to see her journey of how she healed herself because our character actually triumphs,” she added.
The 44-year-old actress also stressed that it is an important issue and we should talk about the movie to draw attention to mental illness.
“We should talk about it, I hope this movie incites people to talk about the issue. I see homeless people on the street and I think people think they’re just derelicts or drug addicts, but many of them really suffer with real mental issues,” Berry said.
