Aren’t we all tired of watching some serious movies with either terrorism or love story into it? After a hectic week all of us deserve to watch movies which are light hearted and bring a smile to our face. With the release of ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’ we have an Atithi (guest) with us which will make us laugh our heart out.
The story is about Puneet (Ajay Devgan) and his wife Munmun (Konkona Sen Sharma) who stay together with their kid in Mumbai. Suddenly, a distant uncle from a village comes to their home for a visit called Lambodar Chacha (Paresh Rawal). Initially, after the entry of Chacha they make small adjustments for their guest’s comfort. However, things turn the other way round when this Chacha decides to stick to this family for an indefinite period. On top of this, the ill-mannered Chachaji farts occasionally, which are also some comedy filled painful strike for the family. But, there are other major issues also that the family faces with Chachaji into their family like the couple had to compromise the comfort of their AC because Chachaji encroaches their bedroom. The couple completely loses their freedom at home. That is when the couple starts thinking ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’ meaning 'Oh Guest! When will u go?' The couple starts trying all tricks to throw the guest away from their home which makes the flick an outburst comedy. The character of the Chacha is very hilarious and the whole plot of making Chacha leave from their home is a clowning experience. It is a very simple movie with all the entertaining ingredients filled in it.
It is Sharad Joshi’s story, Tushar Hiranandani, Robin Bhatt and Ashwni Dhir are to be credited for the excellent screenplay. An appreciative cinematography has been presented by Aseem Bajaj. Good editing work is contributed by Dharmendra Sharma. Ashwni Dhir did an amazing work in this movie as a director.
Some funny twists worth mentioning in the movie are the entry of an underworld don (Akhilendra Mishra), a joke called human Hanuman and the parody of the songs ‘ Beedi Jalaile ’ and ‘ Na Jaane Tum Kab Aaoge ’ are very funny indeed.
The movie has a message to give to all its audience who reside in a busy society and the movie presents it with a light hearted attempt. At one point of the movie there is an outburst of emotion which is again twisted with the climax of the movie. The ending of the movie has an unexpected twist for its viewers.
Paresh Rawal is just too good in the movie. Konkona Sen’s acting is very natural and appreciative. Ajay Devgan is also worth watching. Satish Kaushik adds extra laugh to the movie with his comedy techniques and plays an important role in the climax of the movie. Viju Khote is just very amusing. Akhilendra Mishra and Mukesh Tiwari also give significant performances.
This flick is a must watch for all the people who want to relax and laugh with a packet of popcorn in their hands after a hectic week of hard work. It will surely give you a wonderful time and thus worth the money you pay for it!
