Anupam Kher To Receive Presidential Award At IIFA Anupam Kher |
Versatile actor Anupam Kher who has received several awards for his outstanding performances in the movies like, ‘Karma’ and ‘Daddy’ will now be honoured with prestigious Presidential Award at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) on Friday.
The actor will be honoured with the Sri Lanka President Award for his contribution to cinema.
Anupam Kher quoted, "I will get the Sri Lanka president award at the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum tomorrow (Friday) for my work in cinema. It's an honour.”
The 55- year old actor who has worked in more than 300 films will receive the award from Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Some of his landmark work includes: ‘Saransh’, ‘Tezaab’, ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’.
He ventured into directing with Om Jai Jagadish (2003) and also produced critically acclaimed films like ‘Bariwali’ (1999) and ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara’ (2005) for which he won the Best Actor Award in the Karachi International Film Festival.
