Hollywood starlet Anne Hathaway says that she doesn’t mind gaining some pounds for a movie role. However, Hathaway who appeared in movies like; The Devil Wears Prada, The Princess Diaries and Valentine's Day shed few pounds to portray the role of Maggie Murdock, a Parkinson`s Disease sufferer in her new flick Love and Other Drugs.
The 28-year old actress revealed that before playing the role she carried out lot of research about the disease and found that people suffering from the disease tend to lose weight.
Hathaway was quoted as saying, "When it came time to decide how the character would look I did a lot of research into the side-effects Parkinson`s medication would have on the human body and I actually found that in the majority of the cases it would cause people to lose weight so that was kind of the jumping off point for how she would look in the film. But it wasn`t resting on that - had the medication caused people to gain weight I would have gained weight and still done the nudity.”
Meanwhile, talking about her series of nude scenes in the flick, the actress said that according to her nudity was the requirement of the movie and it also helped her and co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal to explore the depth of intimacy.
She added: "I thought the nudity was an essential part of the story and the intimacy Jake and I can feel together and how the relationship shifts from sex into love. I think the film is a really wonderful exploration of intimacy in a relationship."
