Akshay Kumar To Be Honoured With ‘Katana’ Akshay Kumar |
Bollywood macho man Akshay Kumar, who is known under the pet name of Khiladi Kumar, will be honoured with the ‘Katana’, on Monday during an event which will be held in Mumbai. The founder and Grandmaster of Kuyukai International, Shihan Hirano Osamu, and the organiser of the first invitational National Open Karate Championship, Mehul Bora, will honour the Bollywood superstar with a ‘Katana’ as well as the sixth degree Black Belt in Kuyukai Gojuryu Karate.
A martial arts expert, Akshay Kumar, is really overjoyed at receiving such a honour. This is the highest of all the honours among the Japanese. The Samurais practise Katana.
Thrilled about receiving the award, the hunk says, “It’s a privilege to be receiving this honour. Karate is a part of my soul and to be honoured with something as precious as a ‘Katana’ is something I hadn’t even dreamt of.”
According to a spokesperson of Kuyukai International, “Akshay has always portrayed martial arts in a good light. Many a times he has tried to incorporate martial stunts in his films as well keeping the tradition alive.”
