2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 has arrived with a 440-HP engine that reminds of Boss 302 Mustang in 1969-1970. The new version will be based on the 2011 Mustang GT design.
Earlier, Ford had announced that it would produce a race-only version of the Boss 302R Mustang. The model looks similar to the track-only version with certain advancements.
The Boss 302 is more civilized, less costly and emits fewer pollutants. This pony car is claimed to bear many credentials of a race car.
Dave Pericak, chief engineer for the Mustang, said, “The team at Ford wanted to offer their fellow Mustang enthusiasts something really special — a beautifully balanced factory-built racecar that they could drive on the street.”
The other features that make the Boss 302 a special one are, a high intake system and six-speed manual transmission. Adjustable shocks and struts with fat Pirelli P Zero summer tires and Brembo four-piston front brake callipers are the other plus points of this race-only car.
Ford has also made significant changes in its Boss body by including 19-inch black wheels, a black or white roof panel and a front splitter.
According to Ford, the 2012 Boss 302 will be available next spring. And, the price would be between $30,495 and $49,495.The earlier version, the GT 500 was available for 49,495.
