The next generation Windows 7 operating system is ready for delivery to the computer manufacturers was declared by Microsoft.The release-to-manufacturers or RTM will allow time for the software to be built into computers and smart hardwares before it is publicly released on 22nd of October.
In his message posted at the official website of Microsoft, Brandon LeBlanc of the Windows Team said, "Today after all the validation checks were met, we signed off and declared build 7600 as RTM”.
"Not only is RTM an important milestone for us, it's also an important milestone for our partners." The operating System Windows 7 underwent innumerable quality tests and included feedback from test users and partners before it was released to computer makers.
"Our customers told us what they want (and expect) and we defined those specific experiences and then built features to support them," LeBlanc wrote.
"Windows 7 today runs great on the broadest array of hardware types ranging from netbooks to high-end gaming machines."
The hardware makers would receive the Windows 7 code within the next few days, according to Microsoft.
The voluntary test program conducted for the Windows 7 software involved more than 10 million people.
"That's a lot of people opting in to help us make Windows 7 a solid release," LeBlanc noted.
"Our engineers were guided by customer feedback all the way to RTM."
The prices for Windows 7 were announced by Microsoft in June and it also offered free upgrades to the PC buyers before the release of the new OS in October.
Windows 7 will be available in English, Spanish, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, and Chinese with its release on October 22.
It will be later available in 21 other languages.
