Siddharth Malhotra directed ‘We Are Family’ is set to release in September this year on Eid. While all the stars of the movie will be present in all the promotional campaigns, but actress Kajol will not be available as she is expecting her second baby. Due to this, she can’t travel and hence can’t become a part of the promotional campaigns.
Siddharth adds on this, “Yes the film is releasing on Eid. It is everybody’s film and all the actors would be present whenever they are available. Expecting Kajol to travel everywhere is asking a bit too much."
‘We Are Family’ is a remake of Susan Sarandon-Julia Roberts’s starrer ‘Stepmom’. The movie’s title was tough to decide for director Siddharth and producer Karan Johar. After weeks of confusion, both of them decided to keep the title as ‘Love You Ma’. Even this title was not satisfactory for Karan and then ultimately they decided on the present title.
Now, when Kajol is pregnant, she won’t be seen much in the spot light. Marketers of the movie are planning different strategies to make the promotional campaigns. Kareena will be mostly leading the campaign with actor Arjun Rampal. In fact, she has taken the effort to completely cover Kajol’s absence.
A source reveals, “It is unfair to ask Kajol to travel and promote the film as she is expecting. Kareena is helping in her absence by giving out bulk dates. Kareena has told Karan that she will be available for all the promotional activities. The film is very close to her heart."
