Umeox Apollo |
Umeox Mobile in collaboration with Intivation, has launched its new solar-powered smartphone dubbed as Umeox Apollo. The phone was reveled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona.
While this is definitely not a top-end smartphone, the device has some worthy features.
The smartphone runs on Android 2.2 operating system, 3.2 inches display, 3 mega pixels camera, FM radio and HVGA touch-screen. The phone will include Internet features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HSDPA. And of course, the phone can be charged with solar power and a solar panel has been attached at the rear side of the phone. Yet, it is not clear as to how long the phone can sustain with a single charge.
Umeox Mobile, which is a China-based mobile manufacturer, tied-up with Dutch company Intivation to launch the phone. After smartphones coming with dual SIM, triple SIM and even dual screen, now a new trend has been initiated by Umeox with the launch of solar-powered smartphone.
The phone, reportedly, will come at $100 without contract.
