Hollywood icon Ben Affleck is in celebration mood after his new directorial venture ‘The Town’ received good response from the audience. The actor who was looking forward for the movie release revealed that he is overwhelmed with the response.
Affleck, 38 is shocked and excited that his movie which opened last Friday topped the US box office.
Undoubtedly, ‘The Town’ has been really a special movie for Affleck as he is not only the writer and director of the flick, but has also acted in it. The film earned $23.8 million in the opening week.
"Reaction (to) the film has been great, I was shocked and it seems to be doing very well. I can`t tell you (how) exciting and thrilling it is, ya know? We are the number one at the box office in the US this weekend...so imagine my surprise!" he said.
‘The Town’ which also stars Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm and Blake Lively is a action crime thriller based on Chuck Hogan's novel Prince of Thieves.
Affleck’s ‘The Town’ topped the charts after defeating high school comedy ‘Easy A’ and thriller ‘Devil’.
