It’s official. Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will be sold by Rogers, a leading wireless telecom service provider in Canada. According to sources, Rogers announced this in a blog.
The price details have not yet been disclosed. However, this time we can expect an appropriate price from Sony unlike its earlier gaming gadget. It appears that even Sony is not clear as to what price to charge for its much-touted PlayStation phone.
Earlier, Sony had priced its NGP gaming device at $599, which was largely criticized for such badly chosen price.
Further, the blog hinted the Xperia Play phone would hit markets in coming spring without divulging into specific dates. In the US, the phone is reported to be sold by Verizon.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is the PlayStation smartphone that runs on Gingerbread Android 2.3, sports a 5.1 mega pixels camera with added features like autofocus and flash, image stabilization, and video recording and has 400 MB of expandable internal memory. The phone’s Internet features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS.
