Now as Mobile World Congress has started with a bang, there might be so many surprises on the board. And so, Sony Ericsson has released two minified versions of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 - the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini and the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro. There is also another latest entrant called Vivaz pro at the MWC.
It is expected that the company has planned to incorporate all the features and functionalities of the X10 in a small package to provide one-handed use for the users.
Both phones run with Android 1.6 and sport a new user interface called Timescape, which brings all the communication channels into one.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini and the XPERIA X10 mini pro sport a 2.55” TFT scratch-resistant touchscreen each and pack many of the same features like 5MP camera with auto focus and geotagging, quad-band GSM/EDGE, dual-band HSDPA, HSUPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and A-GPS. There are also options like microUSB port and microSD card slot for enhancing memory up to 16GB. There is also a 2GB card there in the box.
However, the X10 mini pro shows off a QWERTY keyboard that slides out of its tiny body wheras the X10 mini comes with a touchscreen bar.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini is 83 x 50 x 16 mm in thickness and weighs 88 grams only. On the other hand, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro on is a bit thicker due to its QWERTY keyboard and weighs 120 grams.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini handset comes in colour shades like Black Pearl, White Lime, Pink and Red Silver, while the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro is available in Black and Red color versions.
Both the X10 mini and the X10 mini pro are expected to hit the markets in the second quarter this year.
