PS3 Slimline |
Although Sony denies a slimmer version of its fairly bulky PS3, we know for a fact that such a console will one day be engineered. It’s only a matter of time. Also, the PSP-GO! will soon be available for cheap.
Pictures of the newer, slimmer and sexier PS3 Slimline are all over the Internet and many predict that it will be out this fall.
It comes as a surprise actually since Sony took long to slim down their older PS1 and PS2 consoles. This is good news for those who think the first generation of PS3 is too expensive: a slimmer PS3 is definitely a cheaper PS3. In India when the console may appear next year, it will most likely be priced under Rs. 20,000 compared to the current version that costs you the price of the brand new scooterette your girlfriend drives. Rumors say that the Slimline will have an increased storage capacity of 160GB.
As for the Play Station Portable -GO! Or PSP-GO! The company is soon to unveil it internationally. It does not come with the UMD (Universal Media Disc) support that the earlier model relies on. The UMD is like a mini DVD with a whole lot of storage capacity that can store up to 1.8 GB or one game.
The newer PSP-GO! will feature flash support instead and will be cheaper than the current model which is available here for as little as Rs. 7,500. To appease the older fans who will want to play the older UMD games on the new console, Sony may give away free flash versions of the old games to legitimate buyers of UMDs.
