Sir Elton John Vows To Support Ukrainian Boy Sir Elton John |
Sir Elton John has vowed to support the Ukrainian boy after he was denied from adopting the child.
The Rocket Man and his partner David Furnish, who wed in a civil partnership in 2005, were left devastated in September (09) when their bid to become parents to little Lev was rejected on the grounds of their sexuality. Ukrainian law forbids gay couples from adopting.
Furnish admits the couple was ‘massively gutted’ by the decision, but reveals John is determined to give the 14-month-old tot a good start in life and will provide him and his brother with "the best health care, education and family options available to them".
The singer met Lev in an orphanage in Makeeva, Ukraine earlier this year (09). The baby's mother, Marina, had her kids taken into care by social workers after she was exposed as an alcoholic.
