Shah Rukh Offered The Awadh Emperor Role Shah Rukh Khan |
According to France -Indian filmmaker Vijay Singh, Shah Rukh is the perfect face for the role of the Awadh Emperor, Naseeruddin Haidar. King Khan has already played the role of 'Ashoka' in Santosh Sivan's 2001 release, so it will be far easy for him to give best to this role.
An 18th century love story between a king and a young British girl is the rough concept for Vijay Singh’s next movie. Singh has quite an impressive resume for making films; he has made films like ‘Jaya Ganga’ and ‘One Dollar Curry’.
‘The Opium Symphony’ is the title of his Awadh King movie and it is based on his own book, ‘Whirlpool Of Shadows’.
Singh adds further, “I had met Shah Rukh regarding the movie and he had liked the idea. I am planning to approach him again for the role of the Nawab. He ruled Awadh from 1826-36 and fell in love with a British girl but their love did not suit the interest of opium traders at that time.”
He also mentioned that he also wanted to cast SRK in ‘Jaya Ganga’, but due to his prior work commitments, things didn’t fell in place. His latest piece of work is a documentary called ‘India by Song’.
Singh has a specialty of showing the grand Indian history through his movies but on the typical Bollywood backdrop.
Singh is even planning to cast Katrina opposite to SRK as the British girl. He adds, “I have good vibes with Shah Rukh and I need a descent actor so he is the perfect choice. Earlier I was planning to take a Hollywood starlet opposite him for the role of the British girl but I might talk to Katrina Kaif. I have been told she is British and is a fine actress.”
