Shah Rukh Khan Praises Mughal-E-Azam Documentary Shah Rukh Khan |
Bollywood super hero Shah Rukh Khan had all the praises for Mughal-E-Azam documentary. He spoke so after launching the documentary “Mughal-E-Azam – A Tribute By A Son To His Father”, and said that Mughal-E-Azam was an eternal film of all time in Bollywood.
He also talked about preserving old films before they get ruined completely. SRK got this idea to preserve great old films after he met the son of producer & director of this film - K Asif’s son Akbar Asif - in London.
SRK says, “I was moved by the passion with which the family spoke about their father’s classic… not to forget their perseverance in fulfilling his dream of releasing Mughal-E-Azam in colour. Akbar mentioned that last year was the film’s 50th anniversary and that he wanted to pay a tribute to his father.”
Thus, King Khan became the producer of this documentary.
Shah Rukh further says, “My dad was chosen to play the role of a Pathan, but Asif saab ousted him as he performed badly. Eventually Ajit saab played that part. When I was young, my father would tell me that Asif saab told him to go back home and give birth to an actor,” smiles Khan. He went on to say that when he faces obstacles while producing movies, he thinks of Mughal-E-Azam, which overcame all odds.
Saying that Mughal-E-Azam is the mother of all films, Shah Rukh Khan added, “Aur maa ka remake nahin hota (And mothers can’t be remade). The originality and passion of the filmmaker and the actors is so evident that it can’t be recreated.”
Along with SRK, others Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone talks about the flick in this documentary.
