According to the latest reports, Virender Sehwag has undergone the surgery for his injured shoulders and hence he could be sidelined for a minimum of three months.
The batsman is 30 years old. Sehwag was actually sidelined for ICC Twenty20 World Cup due to the injuries he had suffered while playing for the Delhi DareDevils during the IPL semi-finals.
He underwent the surgery is London on June 11 and has been advised to take rest for a period of about 14 weeks.
The ICC Champions Trophy which will be hosted by South Africa is scheduled to begin on the 24th of September and will extend till October 5. According to the reports which came after the surgery of Sehwag, he may not be able to play for the Champions trophy as he would not have completely recovered. Playing without complete recuperation can worsen his injuries.
