Saira Banu & Shashikala To Be Honoured With Lifetime Achievement Award At Pune International Film Fe  Saira Banu |
Yesteryear actresses Shashikala and Saira Banu will receive the lifetime achievement award at the prestigious Pune International Film Festival (PIFF). The festival which is scheduled to kick-start on January 6 will honour the versatile actress’.
Describing both the actress’ as the icons of 60s and 70s, Dr Jabbar Patel, the director of PIFF added, "Shashikala is a Maharashtrian actress who has contributed extensively to Hindi cinema as well.”
PIFF 2011 is dedicated to Bollywood symbol Madhubala and Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. The grand opening ceremony of the festival will take place at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch.
Samar Nakhate, chief of the PIFF Film Selection Committee informed, "The best 14 films have been shortlisted out of 350 films for the World Cinema competition.”
The other stars who had been honoured with the prestigious award include, Dev Anand, Lata Mangeshkar, Wahida Rehman, Dharmandra, Sharmila Tagore, Shashi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna and many more.
