Ronnie Wood Needs Mothering, Says Ex-Girlfriend Katia Ronnie Wood |
Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood's former girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova has asked him to reunite with his ex-wife Jo Wood because he needs 'mothering'.
The 21-year-old cocktail waitress who split from the 62-year-old rocker last month after a year-long romance has encouraged her former lover to get back together with Jo Wood, the woman he left after 23 years of marriage.
"I hope Ronnie and Jo fall madly in love with each other again and get back together. I feel like it's a good place for him. She knows him best and how to handle him. I think he needs to accept that he does need mothering," she said.
"One of the reasons he left her was because he was sick of being mothered and because everyone gave him a hard time about his drinking," he added.
Wood split from Jo in October 2008, after meeting Ivanova - also known as Katia - in a London club where she was working.
However, his relationship with the waitress ended in December following a violent public row in Claygate, Esher, southeast England.
Wood was arrested after the incident and later cautioned "in connection with a domestic incident" after dragging Katia along the street, leaving her with bruises.
Despite the split, the guitarist still believes there is a chance he and Katia could get back together.
"Ronnie never apologised for hurting me. He said, 'Why don't you come away with me? I'll take you somewhere nice, we can talk.' He still thinks he's going to get back with me. I just said, 'No, I don't need you anymore'," she said.
