Riteish Deshmukh Proves To Be Serious Riteish Deshmukh |
As an actor people remembers Riteish Deshmukh for his frolics role in films like 'Masti', ‘Dhammal’ and ‘Hey Baby’ but now in his latest upcoming film ‘Rann’ he will seen in a different shade as a complete serious actor with no nonsense type.
He wants to give variety to his character, instead of sticking to comic roles, he adds "The reason I went for a change in 'Rann' is because whenever people look at me, they think I am going to make them laugh. Because I have been attached to comic films, most of them feel that I will come on screen and make some funny faces."
Here in this film he acts as Purab Shastri, an investigative television reporter, where Amitabh Bachchan acts as a media magnate.
Obiviously, in order to compete with an outstanding actor like Amitabh, he really needs to be serious. I just went for a complete makeover."
He wants to give a natural feel instead of making feel the audience that it is just an effort to look serious, he further adds "The reason behind this is that my character is very serious. He hardly laughs. In the entire film I have probably smiled once or twice. I don't want people to say, 'now he is trying to be serious'. I want to look the part."
First time in Indian screen, Ritesh will be appearing in a serious dynamic role of a journalist that his heard to be full of substance. Here in ‘Rann' he plays the role of a righteous guy who goes far and wide to unearth the truth, Ritesh adds, ’"My role is of an extremely righteous guy. He is someone who thinks that life is in black and white and if he thinks he is right he will go to any extent to prove his point. He is an investigative journalist and he believes that the profession is an important and responsible job."
Well it will be nice to see you in an exciting different shade in 'Rann'. All the best!
