Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly who are back after enjoying their honeymoon at Maldives had thrown a wedding reception on Friday at a five star hotel in Kolkata. The reception was a low-key affair and only family members, television celebrities and some close friends were invited.
Dimpy Ganguly looked dazzling in a Tarun Tahiliani designed ‘red-sari’ and her new hubby Rahul Mahajan donned a garod kurta and a dhoti.
Dimpy Ganguly quoted, “When I look at Rahul, what I see is someone who is very compatible to me, someone who understands me really well and is very caring."
"I am not a very expressive person; as in I am not very comfortable with expressing my emotions. I need someone who can catch me halfway in the process,” she added.
The parent’s of Dimpy looked extremely proud and happy at the occasion whereas Rahul's sister Poonam Mahajan Rao was not seen at the function which raised some questions.
Dimpy’s father said, “On a scale of one to hundred I think I am hundred percent happy seeing that my daughter is so happy. That's what all parents want don't they?"
"Yes, there was a concern about our families' economic and social disparity, but when I met Rahul's mother she seemed to be a very firmly rooted and down-to-earth person. And Rahul himself is very mature. So I had no qualms about them tying the knot" he added.
The couple walked the aisle on March 6, 2010 at a NDTV’s reality show ‘Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega’.
The show created much hype and finally, when Rahul married the 21-year old model & actress in a true Bengali style, the media exposed Dimpy Ganguly’s bikini photo shoot pictures. But, Rahul defended her by saying that everyone should respect his new wife.
