Rahman Apologizes For His CWG Anthem Failure AR Rahman |
India’s legendary musician and singer, AR Rahman has expressed his apologies for causing a fiasco because of his CWG anthem failure. He has confessed that the track wasn’t up to the mark, in spite of trying his best.
Comparisons came into picture as the special composition by Shakira ‘Waka Waka’ was a mega hit and people wanted Rahman’s song to be even better than it.
Rahman says that he just kept the youths in his mind while composing the song and he missed the fact that the song will touch people from every genre and that was the point where he did mistake.
He adds further, “The anthem was tested on the younger generation, and not all ages. We tested it on a lot of nationalities, but for some reason, people did not like it and it became a huge controversy.”
The song was taken half-heartedly by the crowd and even the CWG organizing committee rejected it, he was asked to pep the song all the more, Rahman was given 5 crores to compose the song.
He adds further, “It served the purpose, I was patient. And next time I should be careful about testing it out on all the generations. It is difficult to satisfy everyone, but I did try my best and I am sorry to have let anybody down; but I`m definitely proud of the composition."
The song ‘India Bula Lia’ was not able to achieve the expected feedback and it was dissected from people of all generations even the industry people didn’t missed the chance to criticise him. But India’s greatest singer Lata Mangeshkar supported him and said that Rahman’s every song can’t be a rocking hit.
