Rafael Nadal Returns With Confidence Rafael Nadal |
Rafael Nadal pronounced himself quite pleased with his return to the court after a month and a half ,due to the knee tendinitis that forced him to miss Wimbledon after losing his French Open crown.
"I'm happy to be back on court doing what I like with a racket in my hand," said the world No.2 Nadal after spending an hour and a quarter in light training with his uncle and coach Toni Nadal.
"It was only a small workout, I didn't force anything, I just wanted to see how I would feel," said the four-time French Open champion .His last match was a fourth-round loss in Paris on May 31 to eventual finalist Robin Soderling.
"I want to remain cautious. In a week and half we will know more. But I'm happy with it so far," said Nadal, who was planning his return to the ATP when the Montreal Masters starts on Aug 9.
Nadal was ordered by doctors to rest his knees and he hopes that he would be fit again during the North American hardcourt summer season.
