Priyanka Chopra Wins Best Actress For ‘Fashion’ Priyanka Chopra |
Gorgeous Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra bagged the best actress award for her dynamic performance in Madhur Bhandarkar's ‘Fashion’ at the Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards. The award ceremony was organized on Friday evening, Dec 4th.
The award was received by Priyanka's father Ashok Chopra on her behalf. Mr.Chopra was highly excited over receiving the award and said "Oh, I am so happy for her. She has done it again. And getting an award from the patriarch and creators of the film industry is a great thing."
The award is given every year to honor excellence in the field of cinema and television.
Hrithik Roshan bagged the best actor award for Ashutosh Gowariker's ‘Jodhaa Akbar’. Aamir Khan secured two awards for his highly acclaimed movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’. The movie won the award of best film and best director - for the directorial debut. The jury for the award consists of Ravi Chopra, Ketan Desai, and Vashu Bhagnani.
Other film personalities present in the occasion are Imran Khan, Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, director Yash Chopra, screenwriter Amole Gupte and Prasoon Joshi. Oscar-award winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley was also present.
This year it is the fourth edition of the award. It was scheduled to be organised last year but was postponed as a mark of tribute to the victims of the 26/11 tragedy. The awards for 2009 will be distributed by the Producers' Guild of India on Dec 20.
