Pratik Babbar might play the lead role for JP Dutta's new movie on Kargil which will be shot at Kargil itself.

 

A source said, "JP saab wanted Ranbir Kapoor whom he saw fitting the bill perfectly. But then JP saab decided he wanted a much younger actor with no image to play the key role. The final choice was Pratik Babbar, who yet has no releases as a leading man and is therefore liberated from an image."

 

The source also said, "JP Dutta's association with Pratik goes back to the boy's mother, the late Smita Patil, who had one of her biggest commercial successes in JP's Ghulami. By the end of the meeting, JP saab was sure Pratik had the 'IT' quality that the young soldier's role needed."

 

JP Dutta didn’t disclose about the cast of his next movie. He said, “I've met the boy. I liked his sincerity. Pratik reminded me so much of his mother. It would be a delight to direct him. But I cannot talk about the cast until we've put it all together."
