HP has launched the Photosmart Premium printer with TouchSmart Web connectivity. TouchSmart allows users to quickly access the Internet with its 4.33 inch touchscreen panel.
The printer can print, scan, copy and fax documents. It complies with Energy Star specifications and because of its wireless connectivity can print directly from Wi-Fi enabled PCs.
The printer comes with pre-loaded applications but users can also download other applications from HP Apps studio. Apart from this, users can browse through sites such as Google, DreamWorks Animation, Web Sudoku, Coupons.com, Nickelodeon etc. Through these sites users can view daily news, maps, recipes and personal calendars apart from availing and printing coupons and movie tickets.
Vyomesh Joshi, executive VP of Imaging and Printing Group of HP says that the company is taking advantage of the digital content explosion that had been created as a result of their inventing the concept of consumer printing 25 years ago. Once again they are set to revolutionize the industry with a printer that can be connected to the web and accessed by means of a touch screen. This way, consumers will be able to customize their content, applications and as a result their printing experience also.
The HP Photosmart Premium will be available in the US shortly at the price of approximately Rs. 20,000.
