Micromax In ‘Bling’ Trouble Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna |
‘It Twinkles’, brand line used to promote the micromax, ‘Bling’ phones can’t be said anymore by Akshay to Twinkle as the phone sub-brand is in trouble, it’s been alleged to be copied from a telecom based company, ‘Bling Telecom’, Delhi.
The Delhi High Court has restrained Micromax from selling or advertising it on print, television or through any other medium due to the trademark violation report filed by ‘Bling Telecom’, Delhi.
Till Feb 8, which is the next hearing of the court, the patent, trademark and the product can’t be sold in the market by the company’s agents, representatives or any other person.
Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are the brand ambassadors of the mobile and they have been able to portray the sub-brand as a fashion mobile with major focus on its unique style and looks.
Rajiv Khanna, the Chairman of Bling Telecom says, “We are the prior users of the trademark 'Bling' in relation to telecom goods such as mobile phones, and the use of the mark Bling by Micromax for mobile phones is without our consent.”
The phone is doing well in the market and it is able to distinct itself as a fashion mobile with expensive Swaroski elements fixed in it. Micromax is the second largest selling brand of mobiles in the market.
