Michael Douglas’s Son Gets Five Years Of Imprisonment Michael Douglas |
Hollywood actor Michael Douglas troubled son Cameron has been announced five years of imprisonment for drug dealing by the Federal Judge.
Cameron was arrested in a New York hotel last year and later pleaded guilty to possession and dealing methamphetamine and cocaine (drugs).
Cameron had apologised, "I'd like to apologise to my family and my loved ones for putting them through this nightmare of my own making.”
Federal Judge Richard Berman announced the sentence on Tuesday after hearing Cameron’s apology and admitted that he had squandered a lot of opportunities to turn his life around.
Cameron's family submitted letters to the judge, asking for leniency. Judge Berman said he had taken the letters into account, but too many treated Cameron as a victim.
"Get over the idea," said Berman.
The judge also handed Cameron $25,000 of fine and sentenced him to serve 450 hours of community service.
