Mel Gibson, the Hollywood actor-director, has been declared free from the claims that he had assaulted a man who tried to take his photo in the nightclub.
The photographer, Karlis Gajevskis, had posed as a fan and tried to take a snap of the Gibson and his now-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva at the opening of the Playhouse nightclub.
Depite being distanced by the security personnel from the celebrity couple repeatedly, the photographer had filed an assault charge with police claiming that Gibson ripped his shirt.
But police quickly found out that he was cooking up the story, telling that witnesses had seen him leaving the venue with his shirt intact.
