Mary J. Blige Wants Anita Baker To Feature In Her Planned Jazz Album Mary J. Blige |
R&B superstar Mary J. Blige is planning to move away from her hip-hop roots to record a jazz album - and she wants Anita Baker to feature on the project.
The Family Affair singer has collaborated with a variety of artists from rappers like Jay-Z, pop singer George Michael to rockers like U2, Sting and Rod Stewart.
But she wants to try a more classic sound for her next disc and she's eyeing a collaboration with Baker.
She tells the Associated Press, "I haven't had a chance to collaborate with Anita Baker yet. So when I do my jazz album, Anita, I'm coming for you.” "I have no idea when I'm going to do the jazz album, but it can't be long. It won't be long."
