Mandira Bedi Says She Is Not A ‘Filmi’ Person Mandira Bedi |
Actress-cum-anchor Mandira Bedi, who is well known for her roles on the small screen, says that even though she has done a few movies, she is not a person who is too much into films. She has cited that the filmmakers are confused with the roles they have to offer her.
"I don't consider myself a film person. I have done four films in my whole life. If something good comes along or interesting comes along - like a role I could sink my teeth into, I would consider doing it," Mandira told.
Mandira, who had been parts of movies like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Shaadi Ka Laddoo’ and ‘Meerabai Not Out’, says that she is not doing many films as filmmakers really do not know the exact nature of roles she can essay.
"I'm offered films but people don't know what to do with me - they offer me item numbers, sister's role in small banners. But I don't want to work with a small banner which is not going to give me anything. And I don't want to be seen as an item person - I don't want that image”, says the actress.
"Also, a lot of mainstream actors are getting into parallel cinema. So what happens to people like us is we don't get much quality work," she added.
