If you guys were planning to watch Madhur Bhandarkar's next Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji with family then think again as Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is not convinced with filmmaker’s romcom claims and has given it an Adults Only certificate.
However, Bhandarkar is not convinced with the board’s decision and is reportedly upset.
A source close to Bhandarkar quoted, "Given the movie's title, Madhur never expected that the board would give his film an 'A' certificate. He was told that the content of his film is very bold."
Even the filmmaker confirmed the news and said he is completely disappointed. Bhandarkar also added that the A certificate ultimately brings down viewership.
"Yes, I am upset. It has happened with me once again. I was not happy when Fashion too was given an A certificate, but I really had no choice," said Bhandarkar.
According to board members about 10 scenes in the movie are highly bold including Emraan Hashmi's lovemaking scenes.
The censors told the filmmaker, "The entire theme is blatantly adult. You guys have discussed virginity and pornography. Nothing doing. You have to cut several scenes if you want a 'U' certificate. This film in its present state is definitely not fit to be shown to kids'.
Chief Executive Office of CBFC, Pankaja Thakur informed, "There was no way Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji could get a 'U' certificate. We did what we had to. We simply did our job."
