Lily Allen Puts Career On Hold Lily Allen |
Lily Allen has put her singing career on hold to have baby with boyfriend Sam Cooper.
The 25-year old singer admitted that she has taken break from the pop world to fulfil her dream of becoming a mother. But, Lily mocked at claims that she is too young to take-up the responsibility of a mother.
"I don't think I'm that young to have a baby. My mother had me when she was 23. It's difficult as a woman who wants a family," Lily said.
"Kids take up your whole life, particularly in the first two or three years. So it wouldn't be very responsible of me to commit to doing a world tour if I had a baby," she added.
The singer was left devastated after suffering a miscarriage in January 2008 with then-boyfriend Ed Simons' baby. She recently announced that she is hoping to have a baby in the first year of her time off.
"It'll be a minimum of four or five years before I make a record again. I'd like to have a child within a year. I know what commitment it takes to release an album. I don't think that mixes well with the idea of settling down and having children, which is ultimately my goal and more of a priority than flying around the world," she said.
