Late Ishmeet Singh To Be Honoured With A Sangeet Academy Ishmeet Singh |
According to Hira Singh Gabria, tourism and Cultural affairs minister, a music institute will be set up in memory of the late Voice of India winner, Ishmeet Singh. He was speaking at a function organised on his first death anniversary in Ludhiana on Friday.
He said that the academy would cost Rs 10 crore and Ludhiana Improvement Trust has transferred 2.1 acre of land at Raj Guru Nagar to Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Punjab for the purpose.
A cheque of Rs. 50 lakh has been handed over to Vikas Garg Deputy Commissioner for the construction of Ishmeet Academy, as 2nd installment.
He also paid tributes to Ishmeet Singh whose dead body was found in the mysterious circumstances in a swimming pool in Maldives last year.
