Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is the Indian face of Barbie Doll. On Friday (27th March) morning Katrina walked the ramp as a Barbie at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. To showcase the 50 years of the Barbie doll, designers had put together a special show. The iconic doll Barbie, manufactured by Mattel Toys, turned 50 on March 23.

 

On the occassion, Katrina looked stunning and walked down the ramp in Nishka Lulla's red shaded tiered mini with a brocade bodice clasped with a giant gold bow at the back. Katrina Kaif told that she would always cherish the memory of walking the ramp as a Barbie. Indian designers competed in a contest to dress Barbie, with the winning designs being showcased at the Lakme Fashion Week. LFW, country’s premier fashion event, is being held from March 27 to 31, 2009 in Mumbai.

 

Barbie doll has helped young girls pass countless hours in a make-believe world that mirrored real life glamour. Besides, throughout her life, Barbie’s hair and fashions have reflected real life haute couture and fashion trends. When asked by media about her feelings after being the Indian face of Barbie, Katrina said that she was honored.
