In the current phase of Hollywood, women directors are of a rare pedigree who run their show in vague concept of action and horror but never a lady had come so further to make a film rare of its kind like 'Hurt Locker' by Kathryn Bigelow.

 

May be she has got much of her inspiration from ex-hubby James Cameron who is her strong Oscar competitor with his flick ‘Avatar’. Eventually whoever wins, Bigelow will be remembered as the most talented director of a rare kind who made a bold move even at the age of fifty eight.

 

The film is about a bomb disposal squad operating in Iraq in which the life of the soldiers and civilians are captured with a bit of suspicion, hostility and heroism added to it to provide the necessary flavor to the viewer’s taste. It is a film inspired from real facts of the US military who had served under President Bush’s administration to fight against Iraq.

 

To Bigelow’s tremendous effort even her former husband and Oscar competitor is in all praise for her and wants her to win.
