All efforts to make Dostana 2 failed as the makers couldn’t get a perfect script for it. So, buzz is there that producer Karan Johar might drop the project.

 

Though director Tarun Mansukhani and KJo tried their best to put up things together to make the sequel but, nothing finally materialised.

 

The success of Dostana which had Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra was high and the sequel had to be good enough to come out better in a competition with its prequel. Though the film was being worked upon for about a couple of years, it’s time to shelve it forever.

 

A source revealed, "Karan was very excited about doing the sequel of Dostana, which was announced immediately after Dostana released in theatres in November 2008.”

 

The source added that they even finalised a script and were working on it but, “Although the first half of the film has been locked and everyone is convinced, it is the second half that has been giving them trouble. The writers and Tarun are not able to put together a better second half than the original."
