“Kaminey” Likely To Receive A-Certificate Kaminey |
Now-a-days, it’s a common trend of Bollywood films to land into an pre-release controversy. Keeping in line with current trend, Vishal Bharadwaj” s upcoming release “Kaminey” is likely to release under “A-certificate”
According to censor board it has heavy dose of violence and abusive language.
Vishal Bharadwaj is not ready to give up and is trying hard to get the U/A certificate.
Even the Revised Committee watched the film but they refused to give the U/A certificate to the film for which Vishal Bharadwaj was hoping.
Now the only option left with Vishal Bharadwaj is to go the Tribunal and seek legal help for his film or else release with “A Certificate”.
Confirming the news, a source said, “The examining committee saw the film and thought that the film had too much violence. They suggested major cuts. However, Vishal is not keen on brutally chopping the film and neither does he want an A certificate. So, the film was sent to the revising committee where Sharmila Tagore, the Chairperson, watched it with a panel of members in Delhi yesterday afternoon. However, after watching the film, it has been decided that the film will indeed have an A certificate. Vishal’s request for a U/A certificate has fallen on deaf ears.”
The board is also concerned about the film’s dark theme that makes it unfit for larger audience.
“There are some cuts in the film. Even the cuts have been made to be politically correct in certain places. However, the darkness of the film and the inherent violence, even though not onscreen, is felt powerfully due to the theme. The film is based on the underworld and the very nature of violence in the film is what the censors objected to”, adds the source.
Releasing movie under “A-certificate” means a huge impact on the collections which can be avoided by cutting the objectionable scenes.
So, Vishal Bhradwaj has to make a wise decision.
