Kajol Gets Padma Shri On Republic Day Kajol |
Beautiful Kajol had another day of joy as she was bestowed the fourth highest civilian award of India, the Padma Shri award on 26 January, Republic Day of India.
A happy Kajol said, “It’s an honour and a pleasure when you are selected for the Padma Shri and I thank all those who thought me worthy of it. I am very, very happy with the way this year has started.”
Kajol made her entry in B-town at the young age of 17 with the film Bekhudi. She rose to success with Shah rukh starrer Baazigar ,the second movie of her film career. It was a turning point of her life as she gave back to back hits in the coming years.Her most appreciated movies include Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and lately My Name Is Khan which also received international acclaim.
Kajol’s parents are also well known in the tinsel town- veteran actress Tanuja and late Bengali film maker Shomu Mukherjee. Kajol is married to actor,producer Ajay Devgan and has two children with him.
Kajol is popular for her simplicity and natural style of acting . ‘We Are Family’ and ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’ are her latest films.
