Jonathan Rhys Meyers Moving To Rehab Jonathan Rhys Meyers |
Jonathan Rhys Meyers is seeking treatment for an alleged alcohol addiction.
The Tudors star is said to have struggled to maintain his sobriety since a 2005 stint in a clinic to address personal issues.
In 2007, he ran into trouble with police at an airport in Dublin, Ireland, where he was arrested and charged with being drunk and disorderly. The charges were later dropped.
He once again caused a stir in Paris' Charles De Gaulle airport last year after allegedly assaulting an employee while drunk.
And earlier this week, Meyers was reportedly banned from a U.S. flight after launching into a drunken tirade at airport staff in New York.
Now Meyer’s spokesperson has confirmed that the star is again seeking addiction treatment. The actor is said to be checking into a rehab centre in London.
A source said, "He just really wants to get better. This has been an ongoing battle for him."
