Singer Jessica Simpson is looking for another companion after the death of her dog. The 29-year-old star has been trying to get over the bizarre and tragic death of ‘Daisy’ which was reportedly gifted by her ex-husband Nick Lachey. Therefore, the ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’ star has decided to adopt a pig as her new pet.
But, some people are not so happy with her decision of adopting a pig. The actress is facing criticism from animal rights group PETA. The organisation has accused the star of flaunting pets as her ‘latest accessory’.
Jessica Simpson said, "I'm thinking about getting a pet pig. Does this mean I'll have to give up pork?"
However, activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have hit out at Simpson for considering owning the farm pet.
"Pigs, who are smarter than dogs and every bit as sensitive to pain and stress, don't belong in Jessica's stomach or carted around as her latest accessory," said a PETA spokesperson.
