It was a total surprise when Eric Johnson proposed her for marriage, says the beautiful singer Jessica Simpson. The beauty revealed the details of her engagement and said that it was a teary affair.
The 30-year old starlet said that she could not stop herself from crying when Eric proposed her earlier this month. Simpson added that it was ‘a total surprise’.
"He had a plan a long time ago. He had a talk with my mom and dad about it...He was a gentleman about it. It was a total surprise," Simpson was quoted as saying.
"I said 'yes' and we both definitely were teary-eyed. I didn't even try the ring on until five minutes in, I just sat there and cried with him," the singer added.
Meanwhile, former NFL player left Simpson overwhelmed as he proposed her with a ruby ring, which is her birth stone and not with the traditional diamond ring.
Simpson began dating Eric Johnson who had separated from his wife Keri Johnson in October 2009 after five years of marriage. Johnson's divorce was finalized on October 7, 2010.
