‘His Resignation Has Nothing To Do With Lindsay Lohan’, Says French Fashion Boss Lindsay Lohan |
The boss of French fashion label Emanuel Ungaro has resigned from his role - but insists his departure has 'nothing to do' with Lindsay Lohan's highly criticised work as the brand's creative consultant.
Mounir Moufarrige, who recruited Lohan to work for the design house, is "withdrawing" as company president - just months after Lohan's widely-panned line hit the catwalk in September (09).
It was recently reported that the disastrous show prompted chairman Asim Abdullah to urge Moufarrige to end Lohan's contract, but Ungaro bosses confirmed last month (Nov09) Lohan will remain onboard.
And Moufarrige insists the Mean Girls star played no part in his decision to leave the post he has held since 2006, insisting he wants to devote more time to other ventures but will remain on Emanuel Ungaro's strategic committee.
He tells media, "It's my decision. It's not a total departure, except for operational duties. (The resignation) has nothing to do with Lindsay Lohan at all. The strategy is set for Ungaro and that's it."
Abdullah, an entrepreneur who bought Ungaro in 2005 from the Italian Salvatore Ferragamo fashion house, declined to comment.
