GM E-Spark Coming To India Soon GM E-Spark |
GM E-Spark is the latest electric car that is to be introduced in India after Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius models.
The trend of small car segment is growing. Gaurav Gupta, GM Motors' Marketing Director said, "We are set to launch our electric car, E-Spark, by the end of this year in India."
The GM E-Spark would be the better version of the normal Spark owing to the extra cost due to the electric engines.
General Motors has set the target of selling about 1-lakh electric cars in India this year.
"We are on the growth path. Last year, we sold around 70,000 units. We hope, this year, we can improve this figure to 1-lakh, with a growth rate of about 50 per cent. We are upbeat on our 'Beat' from which we see more than 40 per cent sales emanating," Gupta said.
He also said that the company was strongly focusing on localisation of the vehicle in order to cut down the costs. The company is also planning to phase out its Aveo model in subsequent days.
