George Michael was forced to apologise to U.K. radio listeners on Wednesday (16Dec09), after accidentally swearing live on air.

The Faith hitmaker was being interviewed on BBC Radio 2's afternoon show when he swore during the chat. He was immediately reprimanded by DJ Chris Evans, who told the star he wasn't allowed to use bad language on the programme.

Michael later told listeners he "sincerely apologised", before adding, "I use that word far too readily... It's because I know you so well, Chris."

A BBC spokesperson says, "In line with BBC policy, apologies were immediately made and both George and Chris apologised again later in the show."
