The tragic death of former child star Gary Coleman has taken a new turn as his lawyer claimed that Shannon Price was not married to ‘Different Strokes’ star at the time of his death. Price had taken the decision to turn off the actor’s life support system last Friday.
According to Coleman’s attorney claims, the couple divorced on August 12, 2008 and wanted to keep it a secret.
Randy Kester, the attorney of Coleman quoted, “I can confirm they've been divorced since August 12, 2008. At the time of Gary's death, they were not married.”
Now, Kester’s claims have thrown light on the right of Price to take the decision to turn off the actor's life support machine.
"I have no knowledge if they were ever re-married. Gary wanted me to keep the divorce private but now that it's been made public, I'm compelled to say it's all true," Kester said.
Meanwhile, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where Coleman died revealed that they are not aware if Shannon provided them the false information.
"We had no indication that the information Shannon gave us was false. She portrayed herself as his wife," a spokesperson for Utah Valley Regional Medical Center said.
