Mozilla offered its latest Windows Mobile internet browser for testing purposes to public called Fennec Alpha 2.

The focus is to develop an open source mobile browser on the lines of the computer internet browser Firefox, which is the most popular browser in use today.

Fennec will have touchscreen support and other interactions peculiar to mobilephones and other handheld devices. Like Firefox, it will incorporate popular functionalities like Smart URL bar and support for add-ons.

Mozilla hopes to get extensive feedback with this release. The company wishes to engage Mozilla community teams, including localizers and testers. It will also serve add-on developers to port existing add-ons and formulate new ones for mobile.

This alpha release focuses on stability, performance and amalgamation with the Windows Mobile OS. It comes with several fixes based on the feedback of Alpha 1 and an overall glossy theme.

This application is compatible with anyone operating on Windows Mobile 6.
